Dr. Nathan Elliott
D.C.
Since the age of five, I always knew I wanted to be a doctor. When asked why, I remember responding "Because I want to help people". To this day that has remained my purpose.
Growing up I was naive to health and wellness. I had always assumed poor health was something that happened to some people and not to others. My subconscious beliefs manifested in my life as I spent my early years struggling with my weight and poor immune system. Then, while I was in my second year of college I hit a low point in my life and thought, "How will I ever be able to help others if I cannot manage my own health?" and with that, I abandoned my dream of working in medicine.
I felt lost and uncertain of my future and couldn't see how I could turn my health around. Then an epiphany came to me, "I've never met an unhappy Chiropractor", so I decided to investigate. I finished my Kinesiology degree from Michigan State and left the home that I loved to move to Georgia for Chiropractic school. That is where my Journey of Health began.
Leaving for Chiropractic school was a leap of faith that resulted in me becoming the Doctor I had always wanted to be! In school I was surrounded by many wellness philosophies and chiropractic techniques which culminated into the foundation for my unique approach. Most importantly, I learned about the philosophy of vitalism- the body's ability to self-heal! While learning the human body through this new perspective, I also learned how to have a healthy relationship with my own body. Though my initial aim was to help people, I now seek to help people to help themselves! I believe health to be a journey, and like all Journeys, it begins with a single step. All that is required is an open mind and a patient heart!
